Window coverings in all manner of styles and colors are back in favor now so how do you get that perfect one for your window? Custom made is the way to go, but deciding which treatment is right for the window you have in mind can be tricky. Here are a few design tips on making the right decision. 1.First, think about the style you want: traditional or contemporary. Do you want something simple or more elaborate?

2. Second, decide if you need light control or privacy. You can accomplish both with sheers that draw closed or with a shade that drops down.

3. Be sure to line curtains and shades for stability and a professional look.
4. Mount the curtain rods as high as you can to keep fabric off the glass for better viewing and to give added height to a room.
5. Curtains are the most popular look now and in order to have the most successful result make sure you have enough wall space on either side of the window to stack the curtains off the glass. If you don't, consider doing a pull up like a roman shade or pleated shade.
