Color! It’s such a powerful and exciting element of design. Did you know that each color has its own psychological meaning? Red evokes courage, passion, love, excitement, strength. And red says "the Holidays" more than any other color. I will be posting blogs throughout December about Holiday Red. Watch for them.
I love decorating with pillows. They bring so much personality to a room and it’s easy to change them out seasonally. These black and white pillows are fresh and stylish. The red ultra suede and red silk plaid pillows give the color scheme a punch and provide contrasts in texture. Add silver candlesticks and touches of red on the coffee table and you've got an elegant look for the Holidays.
Decorating with greens and berries adds a natural element and candles bring in warmth and romance. So simple and elegant.
I found this book of Norman Rockwell illustrations. Nothing evokes the old fashioned sense of Christmas in America more than his images. “This holiday favorite features timeless art including children sleigh riding, families caroling and Santa preparing for his big night.” It has carols, poems and stories in it too which I know my family will enjoy for years to come. One of my favorites.
