A great way to spruce up your home for the Holidays is to use things you already have. Be creative and think of things around the house that you can re use in unexpected ways. Here's a few things that I do to add color and interest without being trite.
I love lanterns and I use them around the house thruout the year. This one is usually outside on the deck in the summer. I added some greens and red berries for color and topped it all off with a red bow of wired ribbon.
Change the look of a room instantly by adding new pillows to chairs and sofas. The green velvet and the red toile bring a touch of festivity and elegance to the Holidays. Custom pillows in velvet and cotton.
Create a table top still life with glass candlesticks and crystal decanters. Add a few touches of greens and red for pop. Simple yet elegant.
This large basket sits above a cabinet most of the year. I brought it down for the holidays and added evergreeen branches and giant pine cones to create interest on a ledge in my entryway. The texture of the basket works beautifully with the natural elements. For more Holiday Decorating tips watch for my next post.
